Yim DongKoo · Ryu JeongKun:research and external materials
Read author-participated research, conference materials and external evidence as different layers. The summaries below describe research questions and limits; they are not diagnostic or treatment claims.
REPRESENTATIVE PAPERS
Two author-participated peer-reviewed studies
Ryu JeongKun’s questionnaire-development study and Dr. DongKoo Yim’s BMI·food-preference study are shown with equal importance.
Ryu JeongKun · 2022
Machine Learning Applications for the Development of a Questionnaire to Identify Sasang Constitution Typology
Kim, Ryu and Park explored item selection, hierarchical clustering and multiple correspondence analysis, identifying 47 core items and six clusters. This is a foundation for improving questionnaire reliability, not an automated diagnosis.
Analysis of BMI and Food Preferences by Sasang Constitution Classified by SCAT2 and Experts
Cheon, Yim and Kim compared SCAT2 with expert classification and examined group-level BMI and food-preference patterns. Classification agreement and food preference are not a personal prescription.
These records are presented as research and presentation assets authored or delivered by Yim DongKoo and Ryu JeongKun.

2025 · Jeju
Literature analysis of prevalence of major diseases by Sasang Constitution Yim DongKoo · Ryu JeongKun · Lee Jongheon
Review of 69 papers (1990–2023). It compares constitution-linked patterns across metabolic, allergic, pulmonary, digestive and neurologic outcomes.
Heterogeneous literature; not an individual risk calculator or dietary prescription.
2024 · Vascular Management Association
Association between Sasang Constitution and metabolic-syndrome risk Yim DongKoo · Ryu JeongKun · 2024 academic meeting
Literature review (2000–2023) describing a higher metabolic burden signal in Taeeumin and lower burden in Soeumin across cited studies.
Confounding, classification agreement and study design vary.

2026 · ISPB
Sasang Constitution as a Stratification Variable for Inter-Individual Variance in Nitric Oxide Response Yim DongKoo, Ph.D. · Ryu JeongKun · 16th International Symposium on Plasma Bioscience, Seoul
Narrative review and hypothesis generation connecting constitution-stratified variance with fermented NO platforms and plasma-generated NO water; proposes a staged collaboration roadmap.
No diagnostic or therapeutic efficacy claim. IRB, dose, blood pressure, vascular-function and adverse-event checks come first.

EXTERNAL PAPERS
External evidence, kept separate
Genomics, microbiome, nitric oxide physiology and AI/wearables provide methods and questions—not proof that Sasang-specific effects are established.
Genomics
Explore gene–environment association without assigning constitution or destiny to one SNP. Report cohort size, confounders, effect size and uncertainty.
Microbiome · gut–brain axis
Track diet, sleep, stress and repeated samples over time. Do not convert a small comparison study into a personal treatment claim.
Nitric oxide · vascular response
NO is an important physiological molecule, but constitution-specific effects require preregistered studies, IRB review and safety endpoints.
AI · wearables
Use probability, explanation and uncertainty to support expert judgment and personal choice—not to replace them.
